and impacts the entire state.
The truth is Ohio's corn-based ethanol is a vital and necessary answer to our
energy demands. The future of our industry is bright and the ethanol production
of tomorrow will be even more efficient and advanced.
Ethanol Facilities
Capacity by State and Plant
There were no changes from March to April of 2014. As of April 2014, the
United States had the
nameplate capacity to produce 14,875.4 million (14.9 billion) gallons of
ethanol, operating refineries producing 14,003.4 million (14.0 billion) gallons
of ethanol per year, and had construction or expansion plans for an additional
165.0 million (0.2 billion) gallons. There were 211 refineries. If no operating
production is listed in the table below, the plant has been
idled.
If dates are known, they are noted in the idled columns. Nebraska's nameplate
capacity was 1,906 million gallons, or 13 percent, of the nation's nameplate
capacity. Nebraska's operating production was 1,627 million gallons, or 12
percent, of the nation's operating production. Nebraska had no construction or
expansion plans.
